well building a 35 pick up kit but figured there are more people looking here , Heres the problem, not fully wired , still need to wire in the gauges , lights ,etc. how when I turn on ignition switch the engine will not crank and the solenoid makes no noise, I think there is no power going to the solenoid throught the blue wire ? any thought would be helpful
Thanks Herb

First things that come to mind is either the neutral safety switch, or clutch safety switch are not in place or not bypassed.

Is the clutch safety switch wired correctly?

Fixit: beat me to it.

Use a test light and make sure you have power coming out of the switch....could be a bad switch.

x3. That one got me too...

:)
EDIT: Jeff Kleiner, circa 2015:

If you are not using a clutch safety switch you need to splice both legs of the light blue clutch switch wire together. This wire originates at the "start" pole of the ignition switch and runs to the "S" terminal of the solenoid. Without a safety switch or if the two sides of the wire are not joined together the start circuit is open.

Jeff

Herb if you do not have a clutch safety switch you must join the 2 blue wires together that are near the pedal area. Since you have an Automatic you may have tied it to the Park or neutral switch for the trans.

Problem solved. you guys are the best. In my carelessness I removed the clutch safety wire because I am running an automatic, reinstalled them and connect them together cranks right up !
Thanks again, Herb
maybe I should stick to door panels LOL
