I have 2 questions.

1. Where do you connect the blue taped hose to? Gen2 coyote
It looks like the other end goes to the cmcv on the back of the engine.

2. The spectrum set up for my air filter doesn’t fit inside the engine compartment.
It has a 90 degree bend and the pictures almost look like it should be more like a 45 degree.

1. Can't tell much from your picture. Check this thread and see if it answers your question: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?22472-Important-Information-Regarding-2015-2016-Coyote-CMCV-Plumbing. Ford did make a change in later Gen 2's. Early ones vented the CMCV to the intake. (Maybe that's what you're asking about???) Later ones vented to atmosphere so there's no CMCV vent to the intake. In either case you need vacuum to the CMCV system. All discussed in the linked thread.

2. The Spectre setup, using the part numbers in the Factory Five instructions, uses a 90 degree pipe. It fits.

I figured out how to get the air filter on. I loosened all of the hose clamps and managed to tweak it enough to make it fit.

The hose I’m talking about is the vacuumed source for the CMCV. I have to figure out how to connect it to a vacuum source. The simplest way might be to just replace the whole line to eliminate the fuel line like quick disconnect that doesn’t fit the source I want to use.

I know it's a lot -- and the thread wanders around a bit -- but the linked thread I provided before gives the detail for how and where to hook up the CMCV vacuum. The connection for the vacuum source is on the intake right near the throttle body. Doesn't take anything fancy to hook it up.

I am attempting to use the nylon hose that was originally used because it has a check valve inside. I found that the outside diameter of the hose is 25/64 so it fits snugly inside a 3/8 fuel line that I will now T into the vacuumed.

Thanks Edwardb

Did you use a pressurized coolant reservoir?

Did you use a pressurized coolant reservoir?

Yes. Moroso 63806. It does take a different combination of hoses, different than the FFR instructions. Mounting, hoses, and details in my build thread here: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?18591-EdwardBs-Mk4-8674-20th-Anniversary-Build&p=220495&viewfull=1#post220495.

Your post is great.

I have read that the expansion tank needs to be above the heads. That doesn’t leave much room below the hood. If I put a straight edge from side to side can the top be at all above there. You put the hood on with a 1 by ? At the front of the hood.

Those wood blocks were just temporarily holding the hood in the approximate final location during mockup where I was confirming the height of the tank would clear the underside of the hood. Which it does with room to spare. The arch on the hood provides quite a bit of clearance at the middle where the tank is. From the pictures, you can see the mounting brackets I made wrap around under the bottom corner of the frame radiator mount tube. Those attach to the Moroso mount, and pretty much determine the height of the tank. If you have a radiator shroud, like also visible in the picture, the bottom mount of the Moroso tank rests on it. You can't get the tank any lower. Works fine and clears the hood in that position. If you put a straight edge across the back of the top of the tank (not the cap) it's roughly aligned with the top of the 3/4-inch hood surround tubes. Hope that all makes sense.
