If you have or are building a FFR with a coyote motor, are you using an oil cooler or not

I have the cooler installed and haven't hooked it up yet as the oil never gets up to temp.
If it's 80 out and I am cruising it just gets to 70c and if it's cooler out it doesn't move the gauge.
Once I get it on the track I am sure it will be different and I will decide then, but for street use I cannot
see the need.
I have a three gallon pan so i made an adapter and use the cooler to heat the oil!
I have a 33 an used the engine cooler this way.

No 180*F seems very constant. Using the oil cooler intake for a CAI intake,

Nope. Drive mine plenty in the mid summer heat in the deep south and the temp stays very constant.
Are you going to be tracking the car and running it hard for extended periods? In my opinion that would be the only application you might want one.

Installed, unhooked because of no oil temp. Looks only now.

My 4.6 DOHC is very similar to a Coyote and even on extended runs at the track, the oil temperature never gets above 190, so put me in the NO category.

The oil cooler is not required. There is lots of oil volume in the pan and you can run the car all day without the oil getting dangerously hot. Having said that, I installed the FFR oil cooler and plumbed the SS hoses back along the DS main frame pipe out of sight. Capped off and secured. Totally for the look. Not functional.

I installed a functioning oil cooler. Seems to be the consensus that they are not required but I doubt they are required on SBF motors for most people’s use either. They are a fair amount of work and expense, but that being said, I still like it. Looks like it should be there. Build yours to suite your taste.

I may install an 'oil fooler' for appearances at some point

I'm also in the appearance camp. Thinking about it.
What the heck, might as well chime in. Answer is "no". Don't need to introduce more opportunities for oil to end up on my garage floor.

The problem with an oil cooler is that many times the oil will not get warm enough to actually work. It's unclear what minimum operating temp is for most oil, but it seems to be somewhere around 180* or so. Below that, it doesn't lubricate and protect the engine like it should.
If you install a thermostat, you may still have trouble. Even when fully closed, about 10-20% of the oil will still travel through the cooler. On a cold day in the mountains, getting the oil temp to even move the needle could take quite a while at slow speeds. At highway speeds, it will never happen.
Unless you need the cooler for racing, I would advise you to not connect it.
