used 2015 IRS for coyote build?

Changing my thinking from rebuilding a junkyard 302 to either a crate 302 or a coyote. The preferred method is obvious but the billfold says otherwise. I see some reasonable 2015 IRS rear ends on ebay - will these work with something like a Fortes coyote / TKO 500 / 600 package? Any insights into what else I would need other than FFR MK4 complete with personal options? Thanks in advance... Having a lot of fun thinking but my wife is getting worried about me ;)

You might consider a junk yard coyote from a mustang or F150. If mustang, get the 6 speed too. I think someone on here said it would fit with some minor mods. That's would save a few bucks from having to buy the TKO and related parts. I don't see an issue using a used IRS either. We all built our cars with used parts back in the day. There is a guy on Ebay making stand alone engine harnesses for the coyote. Not sure how well they work but it would save you about 30% over the ford Control pack.

Thanks, I like your thinking and it would go along with my initial intent / desire to "start from scratch" with my 16 year old learning. Glad he could see and help in the junkyard 302 tear down but I made a spreadsheet for cost of rebuilding with missing parts vs crate and there really wasn't much difference. Cost to upgrade to Coyote vs lifelong fun....

I believe the main challenge with the MT-82 6-speed is the shifter relocation. FormaCars has (or had, anyway) a conversion kit available. If I were starting today, I would have either gone this way or gotten the Gen1 F150 which requires small changes. The Gen2 F150 apparently required a lot more.
