I'm getting ready to place an order for Weather Pack connectors and have a question about the gauge of the wire in the Ron Francis harness. Other postings on Weather Packs have indicated 14 to 16 gauge terminals are good for most of the wire connections. I tried to determine the gauge of the wire (e.g., the rear turn signal wire) using the method of counting the number of strands and measuring the diameter of an individual wire (16 strands of 0.01 in.; more curious about the method than anything): I came up with 18 ga. wire using a wire size chart. One of the supplied wires by F5 is 16 ga. and it's larger in diameter than the harness wires (except for the ground which seems to be the same O.D. as the F5 wire), also suggesting that the harness wire is a higher gauge number than 14 - 16 ga. Unfortunately, 18 ga. wire uses different sized Weather Pack terminals and plugs than the 14 - 16 ga. How should I approach this?

Thanks,
Bruce

Bruce,

I asked the same question over the summer so check out the thread below:

Hopefully, this information helps you as much as it helped me.
