Reached the 5000 mile mark on my 2016 Mk4. Equipped with T-5 and 2015 Mustang IRS. Is there a compelling reason to drain and replace these two fluids?

Rick in Maine.:confused::confused:

I like to change the fluids out one brand new parts after about 1,000 miles or so. For new parts. After that, they're good for years to come on a street car. Racing is a completely different story.

Hi Rick,

If you're driving the roadster no harder than your kid beats on his Mustang, than I'd say follow the fluid change interval (time or mileage) set out in the Ford Mustang owners manual. Use quality fluids.

Given our long Maine winters, I will have plenty of time to change the fluids, and will follow your advise.

What are the recommended Ford intervals?

What are the recommended Ford intervals?

150,000 miles for the transmission.
No interval for the diff. As required if you ever need to go inside.

The choice is yours for peace of mind. I havent changed mine yet. All good.
