For those who don't know what that means, it means that he does things to enable others (like me) to behave in an unorthodox manner. In each of my four builds, I came up with some idea for a special part or component whose fabrication required skills light-years beyond my capabilities. These were not normal components, but off-the-wall things I just had to have. In each case, I dashed off a sketch to Mike and he whipped the part out and sent it to me right away. He just didn't understand the monster he was creating.

This time, I got the urge for something I just couldn't buy, mainly because I might be the only person on the planet who wanted one...nobody really needs one. So, true to form, I dashed off a sketch to Mike and a few days later these two things showed up. They are identical so I flipped one over to show the other side.

Then I added a couple of these guys

Four of these thingies

and eight of these

Shake them all up in a box and out pops one of these retro-industrial-cool brake fluid reservoirs

I think Mike should change his last name to "Macgyver".

Damn, I can't even show this post to my wife...she's been looking for that towel...I already blamed the dog.

We all need a guy like that in our life. Mike makes some pretty cool stuff. I'm fast learning the "Macgyver" way, but I do have a local guy I lean on pretty heavily when it comes to fabricating the real cool stuff.

Really cool. Please tell me Mike didn't fabricate the clear reserviors and the seals!

Mike machined the plates, and everything else came from McMaster-Carr. I tested the assembly at 20PSI and no leaks, so I guess I'll be okay at 0 PSI.

does it take a certain type of o-ring to be compatible with brake fluid?

If it starts to leak it means i got the wrong ones...:)

That looks really good Joe. If it was mine. I would change the socket cap bolts for polished s/s 12 point ARP bolts...

I read a dozen sites that said that polycarbonate is compatible with brake fluid. That's a fail. I have to change the lexan tubing to aluminum.

Mabye something other than lexan then? Still clear though... Super cool concept though. don't give up yet.

I'm looking for another product that is at least translucent.
