2004 4.6 ltr with EFI in Roadster MK4 install

I need to connect with anyone that has installed a 4.6 mustang gt 2004 engine with fuel injection.
I want to know if the stock headers would fit, should I purchase short or long custom headers?
I want to use mechanical Smith gauges but need to find cable connections if they exist. Has anyone found a source for Cobra cast valve covers (black) for the EFI version? I am trying to get rid some of the plastic and dress up the engine with a stock look. Does anyone suggest a slave clutch cylinder?

If anyone has advice I would love to hear it...

I have a 1997 4.6 DOHC. I believe these engines are similar? I used the stock headers but head to rotate left to right and turn them on end. It’s in the manual if you have a copy.

I have a 98 4.6 DOHC Cobra engine. AS noted above, I also used the stock manifolds, sandblasted and painted, switched sides, and coupled them to the FFR J-pipes and side pipes. They work great and are plenty loud! I used the FFR supplied Auto Meter Ultra Lite electric gauges. They were quite easy to install although I struggled a bit with the oil pressure sender as it came very close to the power steering pump pulley.

I used a 1996 4.6L engine, which is the two valve version, in my roadster. My donor car had long headers installed, which obviously won't work on the roadster, so I purchased headers from Factory Five. I think they worked great. You can't use cats with them.

I purchased electric gauges from Dolphin gauges in florida. they have some great vintage looking 6 gauge sets. At no extra cost they modified the mustang gas tank sending unit to work with their gauge. Their prices are much lower than VDO or autometer.

As Joel stated in his reply, you cannot use Cats with headers. I personally believe the benefits of having Cats in terms of smell and sound far outweigh the performance benefits of headers. If you are building a show piece, then my reasons for Cats are invalid.

I have flipped the manifolds like you said. I had to remove a factory casting that served as the oil ports and the water outlet. Do you know of ports that they sell to make the remote oil filter connection and to connect to the radiator?
I'll check out the gauges from Dolphin.

There was no need to remove the oil cooler/oil filter housing in my case. The reversed manifold cleared it with no issues. I have read on this forum that the remote oil filter units sent with the kits is problematic.
