Hey everyone,

Just wanted to make a post about our truck. Our build sort of happened quickly and I didn't have much time to start posting about it from the beginning but figured I would share some of the build with everyone now. Some of you may have already seen the truck in a post FFR did a few weeks ago when we attended LS Fest in Kentucky and were part of the Procharger booth display. The journey for us started towards the end of May. We were one of the final beta builders to receive a kit and we quickly hit the ground running. First task was to get an assembled roller ready for display in FFR booth at Barrett Jackson at Mohegan Sun in CT for June. After Barrett it was our intention to cruise through the build in preparation for SEMA 2018. That all changed in Mid July after a conversation Procharger. They expressed interest in having the truck completed and in their booth for LS Fest in Kentucky and everyone involved in the build was very excited for the opportunity. We immediately sprung into action and the result is what you see below. The truck is not 100% SEMA ready but will be within the next handful of weeks. We have not made any dyno runs with it yet but that is on the short list of things to do. Here are some of the specs on our build. I will continue to post more and more photos and some videos as we continue in the up coming weeks leading to SEMA.

-Black powder coated chassis from FFR
-Heat and A/C
-Electric assist power steering
-Built All Aluminum LS1 Short block with 243 heads
-Mild Blower cam (575 lift 218 dur. @.050)
-Procharger LS Transplant supercharger kit with P1X blower upgrade
-Edelbrock Victor Jr. EFI intake manifold
-Holley 4150 throttle body
-PSI Conversion engine harness
-Built 4L60e transmission (built by Dynamic Racing Transmissions)
-3000 stall converter
-3.55 gears
-18 inch Rocket Racing Wheels

Just want to thank all our sponsors:

Procharger
Speed Hut Gauges
Amsoil
Dynamic Racing Transmissions
PSI Conversion

Special thanks to FFR of course, along with Mike from Extreme Powder Coating, Justin from Seamless Customs, Matt from Lakeside Machine and Mike from ABT Machine.

Below are several photos from LS Fest.

That is a great looking truck. Do you mind sharing the paint color used on the body?

Thank you very much for the kind words.

The paint color was taken from a 2018 Toyota Camry. It's called Ruby Flare.

Here are some earlier photos from when we painted the motor and started on the Mock up of the drive train before Barrett Jackson Mohegan Sun.

Great looking truck! Glad to see the procharger installation and looking forward to more info on that in the future. Don't spare us the details, please. We want to see dyno runs, boost profiles, and cam numbers! Any thoughts on going to a Holley Sniper vice the 4150??
Weight split with the aluminum LS? Good luck at SEMA.

Not the best video, but took this earlier to give you all the chance to hear what the Procharger sounds like.

How did you secure the bed sides? I don't see any visible bolts.

Nice job. Ralph

We used the Holley Sniper on our last build "Magnetic" the steel body 33. We used the 4150 manifold and throttle body strictly for looks. From our experiences of swapping manifolds on the LS engines, unless you are building a MAX EFFORT engine build, the choice of intake manifolds yields minimal gains... (10 to 12 hp between certain manifolds vs the most commonly used LS6 intake). Those gains we typically only see at the top of the RPM range, and for the money it costs for some of the manifolds and getting them to fit in a specific application isn't worth the money spent vs gains received. Once you throw boost into the equation the intake manifold choice is even less crucial, again, unless you are building a MAX EFFORT combination, so like I said we chose this manifold strictly for the old school look. Its already going to make plenty of power for the weight!

The bolts securing the bed sides are hidden behind the stake pockets. Thanks for the kind words.

Here are a couple shots I found of the engine. One of the valve train. Even though it doesn't appear to be much more than stock LS valve train, each one of our LS engine builds gets a rocker arm trunion upgrade. The factory needle bearing rocker arm bearing/trunion's get pressed out (as they are prone to failures) and our new bronze bushing and trunion gets pressed into place and secured with a snap ring for extra insurance. The other photo is the engine all sealed up and in primer awaiting to get its red paint.

Fred, Great video and the gallery is awesome. I noticed for SEMA the water cooled(?) intercooler was added. I assume you found a place under the bed to hide the heat exchanger? Very nice Truck, thanks for sharing this build with us on the forum.

Beautiful truck! I’m currently waiting for my ‘35 to be delivered. Going with a similar look. Can you tell me the size of wheels and tires?

Thanks!

Great build! I’m in the planning stages and the wheel / tire combo is what I have envisioned. Any chance that anyone has the wheel specs.? I can get the sizes from pics, but the offset and backspace would be great for shopping.

Thanks!
