New style headligths and Ballasts?

Does the new style 818 bi-xenon have an internal ballast or external, if it did not did you receive them or do we not need a ballast?

The new style head lights are just Hella projector lamps with normal halogen bulbs. You can replace the halogen bulb with any aftermarket HID (xenon) bulb, which will require a ballast. I chose to install LED bulbs (same ones as Frank818):

Correct, single bulb halogen headlamps (from FFR).

I think LEDs are better, but it's up to what one wants.

Those LEDs above have a small fan to cool them down. There are MANY various other models available, some with fan some with heat sink.
