As I'm sitting here contemplating step 234,487, I looked at the inboard lap belt mounting tabs.

Those things are right next to the tunnel tin... How are you to get a nut & wrench in there to tighten the bolt?

I'm thinking of punching a hole in the tunnel panel for bolt access, then a rubber hole plug to seal it up.

Ideas??

Great timing...I am wondering the same and thinking of doing as you suggest.

Put a pry bar between the aluminum and bracket and massage it till you have enough room...da bat

Drill through the aluminum so you can run the bolt from inside the tunnel and plug it with a rubber plug/grommet, then carpet over the plug after the belts are attached.

That's what the instructions say to do -- drill a hole through the aluminum and put the nut and washer on from inside the transmission tunnel. Sounds a little weird, but it works fine.

That’s what I did and all is good...

+ A whole bunch. Don't make it any harder then it needs to be.
