Trying to help a friend find a 3800 series 2 engine / trans from a Pontiac or Camaro. Does anyone know if there is a salvage business much like the guys in GA who specialize in salvage mustangs? Hope this question doesn’t offend!

I'd suggest two things:
Change the title to something explicit like "OT: Looking for 3800 series 2 engine" and
Post to the parts wanted forum:

If you need help changing the title of this thread just post what you want it to be and I'll change it for you.
No harm no foul posting to the roadster forum, but there are better spots to post. ;)

You can try LKQ automotive. That's where I got my engine and trans combination.
