View Full Version : Front Wilwood Brakes - 2 questions

I have two question about the front Wilwood brakes that I trust the fine folks on the forum can help with:

1. The instructions that came with the brakes say to torque the bolts used to mount the rotor to the hat to 155 in-lb. Is this correct? The first bolt that I tried to torque to that spec actually snapped. Obviously I've stopped until I can get some feedback as to what I could have done incorrectly.

2. My other question concerns the hardware that comes with the Wilwood flexible brake lines. The kit includes two different fittings. A picture is attached. However, there are no instructions with them. Do I need to use both or or just one? If both, how? If just one, which one?

Thank you.92918

Randy,

1. 155 inch pounds is a little less than 13 foot pounds. Check your wrench to be sure you are setting inch pounds, not foot pounds. It may be tough or impossible, especially with the red Loctite; to extract the broken bolt. You may have to drill and tap it. Also, those silly little bolts are expensive from Wilwood.

2. The angled fittings connect directly to the calipers and the straight fittings mount to tabs that you will rivet to the frame.
