Just wondering I have one of my brake line fittings that leaks just ever so slightly. Have tried tightening it up, but dare not go any further? Was looking on line for a way to fix this without having to make up a new line not a biggie if I have to? came across a washer called a "Flaretite" Has anyone heard of these or used them at all. They seem like the cats *** if they really do work? Here's a video I found on line? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8BR9Bz4PlU

When I first ran my lines for my power brakes I would get a lot of leaks at the stainless flex lines coupling the hard lines. I am sure I tightened them about 3-5 times ever so slightly only moving it with two wrenches very slowly. I know it feels like you are going to twist the end of the line to damage but I would say go at it a bit more each time, pumping and checking for leaks. They eventually cleared up. I now have a rock solid power brake pedal. It only moves an inch and the car locks up the brakes. Feels amazing. Just take your time.

Are you using a line wrench?

If so, crank them tighter. Some I would swear I was about to twist or strip something but it was OK. If you are very careful you could put some lube on the threads. Might be best to just use a little brake fluid.

CraigS: I am using line wrenches. I have a full set? I have taken it apart and lubed it up and tighten down on it several times. Looked inside the line and fitting, everything looks good? I swear I'm going to strip it out! When I get it all back together it still has that slight little drip. I'll try it all again and if it still tends to have this leak I'm going to use the "Flaretite" or just replace the line?
It could be a bad flare. What does the flare look like? For brakes, you should have a double 45 degree flare that looks like this:

Papa: All the other fittings on the brake lines are fine no leaks it's just this one? It could be a bad flare? But it looks like the rest of them. Good. If I have to make a new line I can do that easy enough? Just thought if these Flaretite washers worked it would save me some trouble? Thanks!!
