I installed two of these under the dash in my roadster, Simple, inexpensive, but effective.

While I think there are better options, this is what I used.
I've got two under the hood, two under the dash and two for spares.

I used the strip of LED lighting. Cut it in half and stuck them pointing down from the lower edge of the dash. Work great and outta the way.
I'll have to check more closely on what they used but I am pleased with the results. These are wired to the door hinge and turn on when the door is open.

I experimented with the one from the kit and was not impressed. I tossed the FFR supplied strip light and purchased a longer LED strip light (made by Oracle & sourced from Summit Racing) in red and mounted to the underside of the front hoop of the roll cage. Much brighter than the one supplied in the kit -- very happy with the results and red doesn't hurt your night vision like white light. Cost was reasonable and installation couldn't be easier.

that's what I am looking for. got more info on what the lights are?
Oracle Lighting 3805-003 - Oracle Flex LED Strips (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/orc-3805-003/overview/) I believe it was this one I used but can't find the receipt now.
We kept it as simple as we could. I like the effects of these lights.

I used the little LED strip that came with mine, I cut it in half and stuck 1 on each side under the dash lip. It works well.
