Anyone ever cut into a roadster door? Better yet, have photos?
I was fishing USB-Lightening cables through my doors and ran into the hinge structure, but only on the passenger side. I was able to get them both through but the passenger side was considerably more difficult. I'm assuming there is just enough difference between the two doors that allowed one cable to pass easily and the other got pinched, but if anyone has a photo of the internal structure, I'd love to see it.

You have one square tube that runs horizontally from the upper hinge studs to the door latch plate and another that runs at an angle upward from the lower studs to the latch plate. If you aren't yet painted hold put a bright light on one side of the door and look from the other and you'll see the shadow.

[QUOTE=Jeff Kleiner;338141]You have one square tube that runs horizontally from the upper hinge studs to the door latch plate and another that runs at an angle upward from the lower studs to the latch plate. If you aren't yet painted hold put a bright light on one side of the door and look from the other and you'll see the shadow.

If you foam from the bottom up until you encapsulate those tubes, your doors will sound and feel more solid when closed.

If you look at the chassis photo gallery (https://www.factoryfive.com/galleries/mk4/mk4-roadster-chassis/) on the FFR website you can see the inner door structure.
