You will need to find the back spacing of the wheels. Here is a formula to find what backspacing you can run with the 98 rear in an Mk4.
Front (width/2)+1.25"=B.S.* 9" Maximum width on wheel
94’-98’ Rear Axle (width/2)+2.00"=B.S. 10" Maximum width on wheel
