View Full Version : Pedal Box Mount Washer?

Evening everybody! I am installing my pedal box and marking where the rear pedal box mounts sit on top of the 3/4” tubes. If the pedal box mount sits flush against the front foot box panel, the rear pedal box mount doesn’t center on the 3/4” tubes. I’d say they are off about an 1/8”.

The issue is the left side of the pedal box mount seems to be a little off. Is it unheard of to put a washer in between the pedal box and front foot box panel to soak up that space and center the rear pedal box mounts on the 3/4” tubes?

I'm not sure how common it is to have the issue you are describing, but mine was tight to the steel panel. The brake pedal is already too close to the cross brace, so loosing that additional 1/8" may be a problem down the road. Also, if you haven't already done so, get your brake and clutch switch tabs mounted before installing the box to the frame.

Thanks Dave. Both switches are already mounted. The inboard and middle screws both go in flush with the rear mount centers on the 3/4” bar, it’s when I screw in the outboard screw, that’s when it pulls the pedal mount off center, but as you say, not sure what a washer would do in the long run. If I bent the tabs of the pedal box rear mount, they wouldn’t sit flush any longer on the 3/4” bar.

Put all the bolts in loose then tighten them all down. All will be well.

My setup was exactly the same way - the rear mount was not centered by the 1/8" you mentioned.

With all the fuss about clutch pedal arm to frame clearance/contact in previous kits (FFR seems to have corrected it), I just drilled the rear/aft mounting holes off-center on the 3/4" tubes.
You really want full face contact on the main bracket to the bulkhead.

Looks exactly like mine. I’ll drill as is. Thanks again John
