I recently bought a MKIIV, however it has a hideous cheesy wood dash, which is basically the aluminum dash with a wood laminate overlay, I bought a new pre cut aluminum dash and am wondering if I can change the dash without removing the body? Thinking maybe if I remove the doors, the rear view mirror, raise the windshield and loosen the body side mounts I should be able to raise the cowl enough to get the top screws out and pull the dash, does this sound doable? Also who sells the trim ring that goes around the steering shaft where it comes through the dah, I know I had one on my MKII but can't remember where I got it, I searched a few of the vendors and do not see it.
Thanks
Don

You should be able to just remove the rear view mirror and push the body up t get at the screws. No need to lift the whole body.
www.replicaparts.com carries the part your looking for.
Thanks mike
