Pros and cons of a 429 in a roadster? I have a lead on a 87-89 429 out of a f750, for abot $450. I know anything is possible, but is it feasible. Will this year motor work? Any quesses to $$ building a 500 hp motor out of a 429. Any real difficult issues out of using this motor? With only a few people building 429's, is it easier to build a 390? Any real difficult issues to deal with?
Anyway, pros and cons? What say you?

429 vs 390? There's no replacement for displacement.
Unless it breaks the bank! LOL

the 429/460 is a huge engine...just makes everything tighter. The question is how much HP are you going for? Would it be easier/cheaper/lighter/etc...to hit that same level with a different package? for example if you want 500-550HP, hard to be going with a 408 (351 stroker). That is just an example. If you are talking stock rebuild or something you will have a great BB sound and good torque at the price.

A boss 429 was one of the coolest motors ever built. But you won't find one of those for a steal of a deal. Nothing wrong with too much motor except it will be heavier , hotter and be a tighter fit.
