I have been making some good progress and have brakes, driveshaft, etc and need to put the final tq on the rear axle nuts on new style IRS.
I did a search and found a lot of 250 ft lbs specs.
Ford's pdf shows 98 ft lbs and then 45*.
Will I be OK doing the 98 and 45*s?
I also read, some of the axle nuts are backing off after some mileage. Is that on the old T-Bird IRS only?

The Factory Five instructions on their website for the newer IRS show 98 ft lbs and then 45°. My pretty new Gen 3 Coupe manual says the same thing. Ford Performance instructions on their website for their aftermarket CV axles say "Install the new spindle nuts with Blue thread locking compound. Torque Stage 1: 98 lb.ft (133 Nm). Torque Stage 2: 45°."
I think it's unanimous. Pretty sure the 250 ft lbs was the older T-Bird style. Yes there were a number of reports of the previous design loosening up. Haven't seen a single report for the newer design. Several thousand miles on my Anniversary Roadster with the newer IRS and no issues. I did check them once last year. They were still tight. I plan on making that check a part of my annual maintenance cycle. The Ford Performance quote is the first I've seen of using Loctite. I didn't on mine. Wouldn't hurt anything I guess.

Thanks edwardb. I did run the nuts down, but lack putting the tq and 45* on them. Rather than pull them off, I will forego the loctite also.

I purchased new axle nuts from ford for my 2015 IRS. The new design already has blue loctite on them and the specs are identical to what you've been told.

Thanks JRL16. Mine may have had loctite on them. Old mind and too much time to recall. The stuff Ford uses is good. I backed a bell housing bolt out for a ground lug and run into driveshaft flange bolts, loctited from Ford. They are not coming loose.
