Hello everyone.
#20 arrived at my place the 14th of July.
Going with a 302, auto tranny, power steering and fenders.
Like everyone else, a bunch of back ordered parts.
All I have done so far is powder coat and loosely mount what parts I do have.

Welcome to the mayhem. I am no. 15.
Looks like you are missing spindles and shock adjuster tubes like me. Have patience.
I am passing the time by drilling holes in aluminum panels.

Thanx Ralph.
Waiting for parts is not fun, but I understand that FFR is at the mercy of their suppliers.
Let the sanding and filling begin...

You must have gotten my shock parts. I am still up in the air. If you ever get up Loveland way, we can compare notes.

Your brake lines are supper clean. What did you use for the feed through grommets on the firewall?
dan04mcs
11-24-2018, 12:39 PM
On the backside is a union the master cylinder lines go to.
On the front is a long flare nut and a an -3 nut.
The hole in the firewall is just big enough for the flare nut to pass through.
The an -3 nut and union clamp the firewall when the an -3 nut is tightened.
Simple and cheap.

Very nice. Ive been watching everyone's builds on the 35 trying to decide between the GEN 2 33 or the truck. Think I'm going with the truck after seeing the finished product evolve. Looking forward to your paint :)

LOL, I hear ya. Ive been talking with military buddy of mine for the last few years on these. Showed him the 35 today and told him I had changed my mind to the truck. He asks how i would paint it. I just laughed and told him Ive been painting these things in my head for years. just have to see what dreams i have in about a year from now :)
It will come to you!

Not too keen on paying almost 200$ for the FFR recommended battery that has about the same cca as a 60$ lawn mower battery.
Going to use this saw box as a battery box.
That way I can use a common size battery with some good cca.

I was thinking the same thing about the dash. Can do so much more with being flat. Even fit a glove box.Nice!

Thanks all!
It's easy to do.
Sanded every thing down then added glass to the thin spots and punch throughs from the back.
You might end up with a low spot where the original gauge location was.
I built that up with dyna-glass.
A glove box is the goal.
I want a place to stick the fuel injection and transmission controllers and still have easy access.

Battery box.
Used a group 26 battery.

Will paint the interior of the box later.
The battery fumes will probably eat it up pretty quickly if I don't.

what you doing for air cond pump mount ?? should run dual belts, ford is kinda a problem I got 8 left over water pumps from last project
which trans are you gonna run ?
I am doing AOD w 370 gears
I got truck #44 and would like to put it on floor but missing lower control arms for both ends
your engine have the 3 bolt crank pulley or 4
think jegs has a chrome 2 belt water pump pulley
I used alan grove air cond pump mount on rh side on last project and run alternator on the bottom
dan04mcs

No A/C
I have the 4 bolt crank pulley.
4r70w tranny with a US shift Quick 4 controller.
Had to have the drive shaft lengthened and the correct slip yoke added.
The AOD slip yoke is smaller diameter.
My axle is 3.7 also.
The pulleys are from CVF Racing.
Super nice folks.
They sent me the CAD drawings so I could measure everything and make sure it all would line up.

Looks good :) Did you build the box out of glass? And looks like quite a bit of room, are you running AC?
bnelson
01-06-2019, 10:20 PM
Sorry. Never mind, I see your post saying no AC :(
dan04mcs
01-07-2019, 08:21 AM
Used glass.
Made a mold out of hardboard.
With out A/C there's a plenty of room for a box.
That one is 8 inches deep.
You cant tell by the pics but the bottom is angled down about 5-10 degrees. Keep crap from sliding to the front.
Will use flocking to line the inside.
Need to come up with a lid support and a latch.

Not sure if you are aware that the FiTech controller stays powered up by battery all the time when plugged in. Only data goes blank when key is off. Maybe you can wire it up to shut off with key. Thought you should know. I really like how your truck is coming along. Keep up the great work!

Did not know that.
Ill keep an eye on the battery.
If its killing the battery Ill rig a cut off of some sort.
thanks for the heads up.

Being spring/summer not much time to work on the truck.
But there has been some progress.
Got the seat bases welded up.
Relocated the emergency brake to the tunnel.
Most of the interior aluminum in.
Shifter in and adjusted.
The tranny tunnel fitted up but not mounted yet.
