Has anyone used off-the-shelf components to assemble an electric-powered 818C? What mods if any were required and was it a single or twin motor set-up? Any information in low-tech language:p would be appreciated.

Thanks for that. Reading of your various problems with suppliers is a sobering experience, since I am based in New Zealand and similar snafus would be very time-consuming and expensive! Hopefully they have ironed out their processes.

I've been trying to understand the debate regarding using a multi-geared transmission or not having one. Surely, some form of transmission is required, even if it is a single speed? I came across this site for dedicated BEV transmissions: http://www.getrag.com/en/products/edrive_1/1edt200/1edt200_1.html
Any thoughts?
