Have seen a few pictures of cables, or lanyards, or whatever they are called on the inside of the door panels used to actuate the latches- ala MGA roadster. What are you using? I'm thinking very light steel cable or something similar, like anglers use to make fishing lures. Pictures would be helpful.
Thanks!
Dave

Be forewarned, the latch levers are VERY soft. If the lanyards don't pull dead straight in the same axis as the lever they will bend. Every time they bend they become weaker. Sound like I might know a little something about this? ;)

Good advice (as always). BTW, these are the same latches as I had on my '51 MG TD. They were probably used much earlier, too.

I did this to mimic the original cars. Using the side curtain ferrules and some tubing, I made drains for the ferrules that keep water from going down into the body, to which I then attached the leather straps. These can be used to pull or release the door, but given the weakness of the latch mechanisms, I always ask passengers to use the latch knob, rather than the leather strap - I consider it more of a cosmetic mod.
