Guys

It seems I'm posting question after question lately on my build. This forum is awesome and I really appreciate everyone's response in steering me the right way.

Here's today's question:

I have the FFR supplied power steering rack and the KRC power steering setup with integrated reservoir. I'm reading the FFR instructions ( which seem to be a little dated ), and can see that I use the provided braided hose to route from the rack to the pump ( assuming that's the high pressure line ), but see no mention of what to use for the return line. I only received a single hose in the power steering kit. Has anyone else recently completed their install ? What did you use for the return line ?

thanks
mark

Use braided hose for both. Put AN fittings (angles you want) on the ends and be good to go. I'd use teflon lined braided hose and correct AN fittings for the P/S system.

it only came with a single hose. I'm just not sure what to use for the other line.

Mark,

For the low pressure or return line you can contact Mark Reynolds at Breeze Automotive or you can procure the fitting and braided hose locally.

Here is the link to the page with his hose fittings .... he even sells a full kit for Coyote setup.

Thanks Carl for the suggestions!

I'm just a little puzzled right now. Given that I purchased the MK4 complete kit, and I added on the power steering kit, I would have expected all hoses and fittings to be supplied. They may all be in there hidden in some boxes somewhere, was just wondering if anyone has completed this task on their build when using the same KRC parts I have.

Agreed. You purchased the power steering option. You should have received all the hoses. Call Factory Five.

Once this one is resolved, I'm going to be hitting you all up for the CMCV plumbing magic bullet. I've been trying to read your thread on this but I need Advil about 2 minutes into the reading. Hoping by now there's a "CMCV plumbing for dummies" with easy to follow steps for dummies like me :)

It's not that bad. Really. That thread wanders all over. But there's a couple posts that summarize. Focus on those. We'll talk you away from the ledge.

Agree about calling FF as they should have sent you all you need. I would recheck your boxes though as sometimes parts hide in them.

I ordered the same options as you. I was missing both hoses without realizing it. There should also be 2 90 degree bends with AN adaptors that are black in color. FFR shipped them to me as soon as I asked for them.

Good thread. Should the FFR PS option (not Coyote) come with the PS resevoir as well? I received only the rack, hoses and fittings with mine. Is that correct?

The 16138 power steering kit only includes the rack and hoses. Basically you're paying to upgrade from the standard manual rack to the powered version. The kit order form does indicate that it requires a pump and bracket. Doesn't specifically state about the reservoir. But some pumps do have an integrated reservoir. Your choice. At $199.00 compared to the all inclusive Coyote PS setup at $1,050, no surprise there are differences.

Just contacted FFR, they confirmed that I should have received 2 hoses and are shipping me a hose :)

Just contacted FFR regarding the newer coyote and their fitment document. They sent me a new document dated 2018 and they're going to update the docs on their site. At initial glance, it's much clearer to me now. Hopefully this will help others with a Gen2 coyote.
