Hi Guys,
I am in the process of installing the upper ball joints-
I have up graded the oem rubber boot with a urethane one-
Several guygs have given me the part number-Energy Suspension 5.13102G

They fit awesome on the bottom, but not so on the top
See the photos-
The boot really does not seat on the outer rim of the ball joint-it never settles down on the outer rim.
Is this normal or do I need a lager boot????

Any input is appreciated
Thanks
Martin

You need a larger boot; I *think* the part number you want is Energy Suspension 9-13130G. At least that's what my notes say :).

Cheers,

John

Energy Suspension 5.13102G is the part number I've used for several builds. Full disclosure, I've never tried to replace the boots on the LCA's from Factory Five. They've always been fine plus pressed on, so haven't tried. Not the same story for the upper ones though and the Energy Suspension parts have worked very well for me. Two things: (1) They don't fit over the ball joint mount like you're trying to do. They fit up against the underside. With your suspension at ride height, rather than drooped like in your pictures, they make good contact. (2) I've used the shorter ones for the upper ball joints. Also, don't pump them so full of grease they start bulging and leaking. Just snapped this picture of the exact setup on my current Coupe build. Greased and ready to go.
