Not sure if everyone was aware, but after 1400 miles in gel coat, the motor had to come out. Here are some pictures of the new (junkyard shortblock) going together. I measured out the cylinders, they were good. So new rings and bearings went in. Kept my B 303 cam but upgraded to trick flow 170s with 58cc Chambers.
All that’s left now is intake, oil pan (went with Gordon levy pan), roller rockers, and then we are ready to light this candle. Should be in the car between this weekend and next.

Looking great, I hand built my 347 and have extensive experience with the 5.0HO. Great work my friend. My 5.0HO with 170cc heads made 290 wheel horsepower with the trick flow top end kit and a tfs stage 1 cam. Its a great setup. You are probably going to see 250 wheel horsepower with that setup. YOu will also have tons of torque. Great work!

Thanks! Question, what dyno was that on? 250 would be pretty low for this set up

I hope you make more but the tiny b cam is holding your combo back. It was on a SAE setting on a dynamite chassis dyno.

Read on down. They talk about our two combo dyno runs.

Yeah I have read that one before. I had GT40ps with the last motor. I was really on the fence about buying a new cam, but I decided to stick with the budget. I was surprised with this article though. The only difference in it is the fact that they are using a boss block and a 750cfm carb. Mine is a 600cfm. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.hotrod.com/articles/ccrp-1302-six-budget-ford-heads-that-work/amp/

I find that they inflate numbers on that site as well sometimes. Guys with my same combo were saying they made 310 to 330 and in reality it was 290 real world.

You won't be disappointed. I promise that our little car with some 300+ lb torque that you have will be awesome.
