View Full Version : About how much would a repaint cost?
If your car is already painted, but you want it repainted, about how much would this cost since no bodywork is required?
Thanks,
Rob

Body on or body off? Huge difference in labor on that alone.

Another ting to consider for cost, is it a color change, or same color?

I think the most important factor is the quality of the paint job you are interested in. I would say somewhere between $2K and $5K would be a good estimate. Body off is the only way to do it if it were me.

Eggzactly!
But does the builder expect the painter to take that on and get a great price? Mmmm not so much. A shop that never has done one probably wouldn't want to try that without padding the quote.

That would depend on stripes or no stripes, as well as color choices..........Also,when you say a car has been painted before, the question is, what was it painted with......Unless you plan to wet sand the current body down to 1,000 grit, there is always some type of bodywork and prep to get the car ready for paint......How much depends on what the body shop sees when you bring the car in for paint.........
