Steering shaft Set screws

I am about to install my steering shaft, hopefully for the last time and want to drill and tap for the set screws to take up any slack in the sliding sections.
I plan on putting one set screw opposite and between the 2 bevel washer locations.
The second set screw, if needed, will be toward the steering wheel from the first, on the same side of the hollow shaft.
Am I doing any of this right?

Yes, put them both on the same side. Less chance of rocking. make sure to just snug them and loc-tite them.
