Had a good day on the project yesterday - a quick run to the local Caffeine and Classics show on Sunday morning, some inspiration.....man some people spend a lot of money on their hotrods!! and some serious skills on display...

Then grab some lunch and finally drop the body onto the chassis for a first dry fit since receiving the kit three and a half years ago (where did that all disappear and what the hell have I been doing all this time?) - first smile was because it seems to fit pretty well and wont need too much trimming or jiggery-pokery, and then just the fact I can stand back and look at it and say..."it actually looks a bit like a car, and I might even get it finished!"

Even a small step can be the inspiration and motivation to finish your project. Good luck. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your progress.

You shouldn't be concerned that it may be taking longer than you anticipated to get this far into your build. In my opinion it was the building of my FFR car that has been that's the overwhelming joy of the experience .

Hey Hotyacht,

Don't fret or lose a minute of sleep over the past because at least you are moving once again.
Things happen and life is certainly good at getting in the way of all of us.
This project may just take a little more effort and a little more time.
Good Luck, God's Speed & Don't Stress Over The Delay!

I know exactly what you mean. And you're right, you will get finished. (And you're building with the inclusion of the right hand drive.) Great Job, and very impressive engine stack :)

Enjoy building it correctly and how you want.

Love that engine, man. It will be done, when it’s done!

...this car is a lifetime project! I was hauling *** to get it done so I can drive it this summer. It is enough for state inspection, but nowhere done to my liking.
Plus, the memories working on it are just irreplaceable :)

Yep the conversion to Right Hand Drive has been rather time consuming and a bit of a head scratcher at times .........and now FFR offer a RHD version of the kit! Aaarrggghhh! Anyway has been a bit of fun and a real source of interest for other people here in NZ and I know of at least 3 new roadsters and a Gen3 65 Coupe coming to New Zealand as a result of seeing my build.

It took me seven years to complete my Mk3 but it's worth it. Lift happens but keep going. Great intake system.

Maybe you should work out a commission system with FFR for the sales you bring in the door?

Hats Off To You Hotyacht Because Doing A Right Hand Conversion Is Way Tougher Than Stuffing A Chevy In With A Six Speed!

You've Got This & You Are Back In The Game!
