Wheel sizes for the 35 with Fender kit

My kit won’t arrive until November when I return to my shop in Florida. Trying to think of different wheel and tire choices. Anybody have some ideas of offsets and wheel sizes. I’m more into hot rod style wheels rather than spokes.

The wheels I have on right now:

Rears are 18x10.5
Hub face to edge of rim is 6 3/4 inches.
That puts the edge of the rim about 1 1/2 from the bed side mount that's right above the axle.
Might have to use spacers once the bed is assembled.

The fronts are 18x9
Hub face to edge of rim is about 5 1/2 inches.
The edge of the rim is about 1/2 inch past the center of the upper ball joint or around 10 1/4 inches from the upper control arm bushing that the radiator support mounts to.

The wheels were going to be temp wheels for assembly but I like the way they look without fenders.
They are my buddies wheels he had on a CLS Benz.
The tires are right at 26 inch diameter.
If I use these wheels I would like tires that are 27 inch.
I think it would look better with more sidewall.

FFR suggests the 33 front rims & tires for the full fenders. Some as listed above make other stuff fit also.

I would like some recommendations on 15-16" wheel fitment, and backspace needed. Torque Thrust with not too radical tires. Will be using FFR fenders. FFR wheel recommendations are really limited and too large for me. Want something more old school. Not a fan of having to use spacers.

The one consideration is whether whichever wheels/tires you choose will fit over the brake discs. I think with the front Mustang brakes and rear 11.65 discs, 15" wheels SHOULD fit, but might be tight on the rears.

Just heard from Tony on 15" recommendations for full fenders.
He indicated I would need 16" wheels to clear the 11.65" supplied rear brakes, but I see some comments on the '33 Forum, etc., that they will fit 15's. Confused here.
As to backspace, he indicated he used 5.5 all around, but did not comment on what is minimum needed to clear.
Comment on tire size was: when using full fenders the 235 front will work, but the rears will need to be 265 due to the shape of the fender.

Looks like 295/40 would fit fine and probably look better.

Man they sure made it hard to find a one piece wheel in a 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern with a 25mm offset. All the wheels I like, to get them in a 25mm offset, become a custom order 2 or 3 piece wheel. This means they go from 2 to 3 hundred a piece to $1,400.00 ish per wheel. Looking at the front pic's on Dan's even if you went to a 8"wide wheel, without the offset it looks like it will be out too far.

I found that some 1999 - 2004 Mustang wheels have the right bolt pattern and wheel offset. You can find replica wheels pretty cheap. I got these for way less than one 3 piece wheel. I will report back once I have tires mounted and body pinned in place as to if they fit but they are real close to Dan's wheel specs. 18" by 9" with 24mm offset in front, and 18" by 10" with 22mm offset in rear. 97716

Those wheels look real nice.
The wheels I got were originally spec'd for a CLS Mercedes.
I had no idea they would fit, got lucky.

I too want 15 or 16 in wheels found some with 4.5 backspace for rear and 2 in backspace for a 4 in front rim car is still waiting for transport o I cqnt mock up and measure
