Does anyone have tire stickers on their 17" rims. I have only found two photos online showing 18" installs.

I'm thinking about doing 1.25" letters for my Firehawk Indy 500 tires

I purchased some tire stickers from tiresticker.com for my 17" rims. I'm hoping to get time to put them on this week or weekend, so I can't offer you any advice on installation just yet. The tires are Toyo Proxes 888's

Those are my 18s
I made an etching of the actual lettering on my tires and then scanned and sent to tire stickers.com They then produced the lettering I wanted exactly to match the lettering on my tires. You can do that if you are happy with the existing letters on your tires. Not a huge difference in sidewall height from the 17 to 18s so I think you will be just fine.

I have pictures of the etchings in my build thread linked in my signature post #620

Those do look good! I am really starting to get a thing for that look. I didn't know you could get custom ones that really match what is on the tire. I like that idea.

I think these are on 17's. Even though this is a Nitto tire, the Goodyear stickers still look pretty good!

I got mine on this week...

These are on 17" rims/tires, with a 1.25" decal height. I assume that height includes the stripe underneath the letters, so the letters may be a little shorter than the standard 1.25" letters. I can measure later, if you want to know. I struggled getting the amount of glue correct. I had a little ooze out from under the letters on some of them. I'm going to try to clean it up with acetone later. How have some of you experienced guys dealt with excess glue? Besides the glue, I really like the way they look and the vibe they give the car...

More details in my build thread.

Hey, jgpost, Just in case you aren't aware of this; tirestickers.com has some suggested letter sizes based on your side wall heights. They also ask for your tire size and type so they can design the decals accordingly. It's not a one size fits all type of thing.

jgpost,
Would you mind sharing some tips on the install? Did you sand the tire where the letters are glued? How much glue would you recommend?

Here's some on 17" wheels. You don't need to sand the tire...Just be sure that its completely cleaned with Acetone. Regarding the glue, you just put enough on the sticker to cover it. Don't glob it on and make sure that you get the corners. Glue is pretty toxic stuff and will adhere almost immediately to the rubber when you put the sticker down, but you do have some working time before that point.

I love the black powdercoat on the wheels. Did you do a clear PC over the black, or is that just a gloss black PC? I'm planning to do the same thing on my 18's, and leave the spinner shiny (maybe clear PC to keep it from tarnishing).

Edit: Sorry for the threadjack. Hopefully it's just a quick detour.

To get back on track... the tire stiickers idea is very intriguing. Anyone have more examples on 18" wheels?

That’s high gloss powder coat no clear. Powder coater said the clear on high gloss was a waste, so I didn’t get it.

What's your tire size on those nitto's? Do you happen to have an exact model as well?
