Why one manifold included with crate engine ?

I received my Coyote crate engine last week and was curious as to why it came with a single exhaust manifold installed ? I expected none, but it seems like it's common to have a single manifold attached ?

Any specific reason for this ?

I just debated this. My thoughts are, your engine is the same as an assembly line engine. With the one exh header it will drop in the engine bay, the other side installed after that. It would take time and labor to remove it for shipping.

The LH header assembly isn't included with the crate engine because it has an integral catalytic converter. List price almost $700, versus the RH header list price less than $200. Don't know if it's an assembly thing or not. Could be they go to Mustang assembly in Flat Rock, Michigan that way. Or maybe that expensive piece is removed from the crate motors before being sent to Ford Performance in Livonia, Michigan. Either way my understanding is that it's about the cost of that part. Since the stock headers are probably rarely used in crate installations, they don't include it.
