This morning Wall Street Journal (Wednesday July 27th), has an excellent article on the increasing popularity of component cars and pending legislation that FFR President Dave Smith has been closely associated with.

The SEMA sponsored "Small Volume Manufacturers Bill" is the product of an industry council, of which Dave Smith is a member. The Bill seeks small volume exemptions from certain aspect of NHTSA crash testing requirements and is designed to help small volume manufacturers develop new technologies that will help spur economic growth.

"This is part of a larger plan for us and strongly involves our 818 project, which is a new design that is slated to fill three distinct vehicle niches that are currently unserved," said Dave from his summer vacation in Michigan. "We will see a direct impact on our company and that of our suppliers if this legislation passes."

That is too cool. Awesome accomplishment, you don't read business you are business news.
