View Full Version : Fix For Rear Body Mount Hardware

I recall a fix for the rear body mount hardware access problem on the Mk4, but I have been unable to find it.

A couple of years ago, I helped someone mount their body (Mk4) and we had to drop the gas tank to get access to the rear quick jack hardware.

If someone has a link, it would be much appreciated.

I can't find the link either, but the solution is to ditch the long bolts and use shorter ones. Then use a coupler nut to secure the short bolt in place, and all-thread to give the length needed for the quick jack. Put a washer and nut on the INSIDE of the trunk on the all thread so you can adjust the body in or out to match the trunk.

The picture below shows the shorter bolts & coupler nuts.
