when choosing mk4 complete kit options, there are no chevy header, driveshaft, trans/engine mounting options. I Plan on using bluepoint engines chevy 400 W/TKO Manual transmission package. Where does one aquire parts or will these all have to be custom made? I could not find a thread on this subject.

Fab the mounts and possibly go to GP Headers tell them you're doing a cobra replica.

That would all have to be custom made / fabricated.
Any resale value considerably depreciated.
Why do it?

I'm not so concerned with resale value. I was more concerned with horsepower per dollar. However, now that I understand that there will be custom parts and fab work needed, the cost and time of building a chevy powered mk4 increases. The ford engines look a bit more appealing now. Thank you all for a quick reply and some references! Much appreciated.

You really don't have to get too carried away with that engine.
How fast do you want to go + still spin the tires at will? (careful what you wish for)
What tires do you want to run regularly?
What do you want the car to do?
All things to consider...

Yes.. the frame mounts would need to be purchased from a speedshop like Speedway. Install the motor mounts and frame mounts on engine then lower into engine bay. Check fitment and possible pinion angle as well.
It isn't hard.
There are small and big block Chevy cobras going in the 60s.. depends on what you want. I

When you come over to the Dark Side, understand that you will do a lot of fabricating.
The engine needs to move forward a pretty good bit and those measurements can be found on Randy J's website.
Also, Pinion Angle Was An Issue For Me Because I Set My Engine 1 Degree Down Towards The Rear So Be Ware!
My engine mounts came from Speedway and the transmission mount was custom along with the driveshaft.
Currently I'm adapting some adjustable IMCA headers from Schoenfield and the guys at Shoenfield are making custom collectors for me.

PS: If you don't have an engine yet, you might just want to do a Stroker Windsor since it would be a bolt together set up supported by Factory-5!

5.0 Coyote engine, the best bang for the buck.
All the issues I'm having with my 331 stacked system, in hindsight it'd be the new 5.0. More hp for less $$$$ and a factory warranty.

The total price of all that drifts off really close to: "should have bought a corvette".
Particularly when adding in a unsatisfactory stacked 331 system...

Like mike says careful what you wish for. I just got mine plated and on the road a week ago, just a 300ish horse 302. Still have to be real gentle in 2nd gear to not lose the back end. Had a guy chase me in a new challenger last week from a stop sign, backed off about 75 so I don’t go to jail. At the next stop sign he pulls up beside and goes wow that’s awesome, I’ve got 400hp and you were pulling away from me.
Most guys I’ve met that built 500hp said if they did it again they only need 250. Said the cars not fun and they are scared to drive it.
Can’t see being able to use much more than I have, can’t put the power all down in 2nd and going highly illegal speeds real quick in 3rd.
289 cobras were the fastest cars around in their time, with 300hp.

UPDATE:
If you do the Chevy/GM-TKO set up, then this bell housing would work for you if you want a hydraulic clutch with an external slave cylinder.

Your 4 and 5 speed transmission choices are insane using this bell, but a ZF 6-Speed from a C-4 won't fit it nor will a T-56 from a 4th gen Camaro.
If you want to locate a ZF 6-speed gear box, then you may want to look for one on Ebay, buy an old C-4 or contact Dino at his Corvette salvage yard or Bill Boudreaux, the ZF Doctor. Just understand that this transmission was only used in Corvette's from 1989-1996 and is an obscure set up. The shifter also needs to be modified which is a pain in the "You Pick The Body Part!"

I am in awe of the current Chev small block but have no interest in one in a Cobra replica. Now, a GTM? Sign me up!
