I ordered my truck kit back on 3/1/18 with the plan to keep it all old school, carb 302 not a big HP truck. This plan has taken a slight turn, because I got a LS7 (505HP) in a real good deal. I could not find much info online of the LS7 being used in any kit cars or very many engine swaps for that matter, so this should be fun. Plan for now would be to convert this to a wet sump oil system and hope the rest is the same as a LS3, LS2, or LS1. I will be pulling the engine from the donor car this coming weekend so I will be able to see just how big the oil tank is, and make a decision from there if it will be worth trying make it work as a dry sump.

One last ride in what is left of the Z06 and the young man in the photo (my son) said he will for sure put down his video game and join me in the shop to start the engine removal. It is a good day when a few quick burn outs will get a young man away from electronics to learn something real.

well, I guess that is one way to shed some weight in a Corvette. :-)

I had a little time the past few weekends to start the build. Nothing different about the way mine is coming together than what others have reported. Just figured I would post progress Pics. 9450594506945079450894509

Keep the updates coming! You are keeping that shop nice and tidy too.

Thanks I will tell my son you said that. He was asking me why do I put the tools up every time I use them. However here is the other room in the shop, and its real hard to keep neat with all the boxes and packing material associated with this project.

A few progress pics and a thank you to the staff at FF. I did not have what I needed to install the transmission. looking at what they sent I figured I could fab something to make it work, but that was probably a few hr job, so i called just to see if i was missing something and with 0 questions asked they are shipping me a bracket out to get this done. I figure with the couple hrs saved I can get the fuel lines installed.

I was wondering what trans you're running. I've got a 4l60e and I bought an energy suspension mount and made a 1.5" spacer. if you've got a 4l80, I have no idea

Exhaust is done, AC unit started, and a huge pile of wire is how I walked out of the shop on Sunday evening. I made the engine side wiring look good but I don't think it will be even close to possible to make the under dash wiring look good.

I built a mount for the Trans and engine controllers. I sure hope this will not interfere with any thing else in that space.

Started working on my doors this weekend and ran into this opportunity. I guess the fabricator that produced these had his mind on something other than work when he built them. I decided it was just faster to fix the problem rather than wait on a replacement.

I did manage to get one door in for a test fit. Still need to trim a little, and adjust a little on it, but we are getting there.

That's not even a little close. Must be nice to have a welder. Maybe for Christmas.......

I just looked at mine, and I appear to have two brackets that look like the ones in your third photo. So, I think I am OK.

It must have been a Friday or Monday for the fabricator.

Thanks, Ralph

The welder at the house has for sure opened up a lot of doors from small fab projects to repairs on lawn equipment. One of my favorite shop tools. Shop C-list, there are always deals on them on there. Also while you are picking one of those up, you may as well get a plasma cutter.

The radiator hoses were fun on this, but with a few parts from summit the problem is solved.

Copied the idea and modified the mount from JimLev in the 33 fourm, and mounted my shifter.

I am just one gas pedal and a few steering joints away from having this thing ready to drive the go cart. Anyone else waiting in the steering joints?

Nice work. My kit should arrive mid-February. I'm also doing an LS but with a T-56 6-speed manual.

I have the engine running now. it all went pretty good, had a small fuel leak, but it is fixed and I am now ready to drive it if i could just get the steering joints.

Would you have the part numbers for the hoses you used? I'm doing an LS build also.

Its been a few years since anything has happened on my build. I hit a wall with the fitting the body together and decided to get someone else to do that, so I took it to Whitby Motorcars in NC. It took them a while to get started on it because of how much back log of work they had but they are starting to make some progress.

They have made some progress on my truck and it should be painted soon. I sent them this image I had Chat make of the expected finish for inspiration. I just hope it looks somewhere close to this cool.

They have made some progress on the interior. They should have it to a point where once the body is painted and put back on there will be very little left to do.
