Gentlemen,
We are refurbishing a 1960 Flying Tern sailboat, which is about 14' length. The hull and top are showing wear and tear and spider cracks and general UV deterioration.
The boat was inexpensive. The idea here is an inexpensive refinish that will last, say, 5 to 10 years. Should we use automotive paint (like a basecoat/clearcoat) or go somewhere like West Marine and spend the big bucks on marine paint. Please remember we're on a budget and this boat does not see salt water.
Any thoughts appreciated.
