Hi all, I'm Brad from Ballarat in Victoria, Australia.
I've been itching to build a 33 Rod for a few years now and I'm getting close to pulling the trigger. Planning for a pretty well stock build; IRS if finances permit, hardtop and bike fenders, LS3 E-Rod crate motor. My understanding is that the ECU in the E-Rod kit is tuned to comply with California emissions regs, therefore will give me the best chance of passing the IM240 emissions test here.
Getting compliance here is going to be the biggest challenge. After discussions with an engineer, I'm currently reading through aussie regs to try and work out if this is viable. The engineer estimates $5k to get it complianced and along with shipping half way round the world and the falling aussie dollar, it's starting to get $$$.
Would love to hear from any other aussie builders out there regarding their experiences.
