Help me solve the process flow if you can!

Emissions testing for kit cars does not exist in Ontario which is one less expesne and hassle to deal with.
Insurance companies are few, but the agencies in my area are willing to accept mature drivers with clean
driving records.

I guess the only obstacle left is getting a certification from an automotive shop in order to receive plates
for the GTM. I'll be making a few calls to various mechanics in the area, but I'm wondering if any of you
had trouble finding someone to inspect and write up the documentation?

Once receiving a bill of health from the mechanic, and getting the insurance policy number I'm assuming
it's all downhill at the Department of Motor Vehicles? Should I prepare/expect any pitfalls when getting
the plates/stickers?

(This providing all documentation from FFR, customs, donor parts is perfect)

Thanks for your help!

I'm new here but have built an have been around hot rods for over 40 years and one thing that helps with both inspection and going through the dmv is a good build book.

The build book basically has the same information that you would put in a build thread on here. The step by step process of putting the car together.

The photos of the bare chassis when it arrived, the photos and notes on each chassis and major component installation plus things like brake line routing and safety features.
That solves the "how did he do that?" issues that may come up.

The receipts for each major component will show the dmv where said components came from and solve any issues in that department. If you bought and used a doner car a copy of the paperwork from when you bought the doner and the paperwork from when you sold the hulk that was left help simplify things.

A shop that specializes in Corvettes or other "interesting" cars might be a good place to check with for the inspection.

Thanks, those are some great tips!
