Looking for car shippers that people have used and would recommend. I need to ship a car from the DFW area to Stuart FL. I got a quote from intercity Lines, but want to shop around.

Thanks

I used Reliable Carriers for a car in the past and was happy with them. Not sure how their price compares to others but they have a big fleet so it may be more convent for them then some smaller carriers.

I've used Thomas Sunday multiple times & been completely satisfied.

I just used Intercity (for the second time) this past March to ship a car from So-Cal to NJ. Their quote was within $100. of Reliable and Horseless and a few hundred more than a broker. Would I use Intercity again? YES! Communication with the office staff was excellent. The car was picked up in approximately 7 days and the car was in NJ 6 days later. The driver was very professional and also communicated with his ETA. The car was double covered (soft car cover and plastic on top of that). Great experience.

I've used A-1 Auto Transport without problems. They seem to be more on top of the long distance state to state thing than some of the others I talked to. Pretty affordable as I remember too.

I wouldn't risk using an open carrier for something like this, especially if the paint is fresh or it's a delicate build. Enclosed transport is definitely the way to go to keep it safe from road debris and weather during the long haul. Just make sure you double-check that their insurance policy actually covers the full value of a custom build since standard valuations can be tricky with these cars. You should definitely try to get quotes from a few different places to see who offers the best balance of price and protection. Check out https://www.a1autotransport.com/ if you want to get an idea of what the current rates look like for that distance. It’s always better to have a few options on the table before committing to a driver.

I believe Cunningham Transport ships vehicles, in addition to FFR kits.

DO NOT go through a broker! I can tell you some horror stories about cars that have been shipped to or from me by 3rd. party, lowest cost provider, fly by night guy with a pickup and trailer who were getting the job through brokers. If you aren't dealing with one of the big transporters like Intercity, Reliable, etc. be absolutely sure that you are actually working with the owner/operator who will be transporting your car.

I've used Intercity and Reliable enclosed trailers only. They're used to transporting high end vehicles and know how to handle them and inspect them. They may be
on the upper spectrum with cost but well worth it in the long run.
