Just wondering, has anyone modified their body to make the rear section removable? Like on some Italian exotics? I'm thinking about engine serviceability.

There was a build called 'Ginny' I believe years ago that had a really cool tilt open rear, but I don't think pics are online anymore. I'm not sure if the car was ever completed. Username was mehansen50. Here's a video I found that shows the rear with the hatch removed...

The PDG rear bodywork I believe is removable.

Thomas#142 was working on a tilt rear as well, I don't know how it ended up. Some pics here http://www.ffcars.com/forums/42-factory-five-gtm-forum/201485-anyone-doing-full-tilt-open-rear-2.html

You can also consider hinge at rear, like GT40.

Mike, I didn't realize you are running the intake manifold facing forward, was there a reason for that? Cooler air?

That is the theory. We move the intake away from the exhaust that way. This also allows us to make an exhaust system that is smoother flowing because we don't have to bend it around the air intake box that we run. Also no issues with sensors. It should be noted that this cannot be done on a stock GTM. We added a second main hoop further forward to conform to NASA/SCCA rule requirements for main hoop height in relation to drivers head height. This effectively moved the firewall forward about 10".
