Rear hood area?

I’m assuming this is routine? I can pretty well level the hood by using rubber grommets in the rear center and by shimming up the side rails of the hood. But both rear corners will need some building up in order to have the hood rear corners level...is this the right wat to deal with this problem? Sorry for the pic format! This the view of the rear hood corner pass side.

Also, the hood latches help some but won’t take the upward curl out enough.

Mine was that way. I used a ratchet strap to curve the hood and hit it with a painters light for a day alternating sides to get it nice and warm throughout where it needed to curve. After it cooled the hood took a set and I had had a good curve that caused the corners to set down. After this you should not have to build up the fenders in the rear corners to meet the hood rather you need to do some build up on them to flow into the door area that feathers out at the hood opening. You will also have to build up the fenders to meet the hood as you go to the front of the car. This is more to correct the unevenness in the fiberglass that is most noticed on the drivers side. And the rear cowl area of the hood needs to be worked out to make it match the body.

Well it looks a bit unorthodox but I’ll give this a try...I have a few weeks before I need to work on the hood

You need to actually over bend the hood a little bit. I put the straps hooks on the side of the hood with the strap on the underside and ratcheted it down till I had a little more curve then I wanted. Almost takes 2 people to hold and tighten the ratchet strap. The issue I see is that you have to slightly over end the hood as it will flex back a bit after it’s heated when the strap is released. Also you can get the hood reshaped in a day if it gets hot but not to hot (like a car in the summer sun hot). If at first you don’t get enough curve you can do it again and tighten the straps down more begore you hit it with heat again.

I used the same ratchet strap technique but put some spacers between the strap and the hood where I wanted the curve.
