I was thinking that the last anniversary kit should be a permanent part of the factory showroom. Someday there will be a FFR museum and I think such a special car should be a part of it. Maybe the employees could build it. Good idea or bad idea?

I think they may already have that covered - I recall something about Dave Smith getting Serial No. 1 of the 15.

Hopefully Dave Smith stil has No. 1 of the 15
There was a rumor that soon went away.
I was lucky enough to get 15 of the 15
I would be hurt if somehow there was a 16 out of 15 :p

Hee, Heee. I ask a unnamed FFR employee at a show this year if Dave was going to build his own. We both thought that was a very good idea! How about it Dave? We know you built the company but can you still build a car? :) You know you want too..... Might give you some new ideas after all these years.

Guys, Still playing catch up after the last three weeks but one of the guys here asked that I post on this.
I do indeed have one of the anniversary cars reserved for me. The one we just sold was ordered by Dave P., who in in Afghanistan and wanted to change to a regular Mk4 for cost reasons (he won the give-away car last year and would have had to pay the difference for the anniv car), so we put his car back on.
With respect to the serializations, I gave my serial number 001 to a good friend and owner of 3 FFR's, Bill F. since he did me a very special favor and wanted an Anniv car after they were all sold. Dave originally had 013 and changed to 010 after another guy changed his order, so he took 010 and when I gave Bill 001, that left me with the favorite number 13. The car we just sold was #010, and was the last Anniv car. Alot of guys emailed about the car and were bummed it went so quick. I do want to keep one of the anniv cars here at FFR for posterity, and the story of these cars is a good karma.
Alot of people are superstitious and I have not decided if we will assign 013 (that's my number right now). If we decide NOT to make number 13, that would mean we would have to assign 016/015 (kinda dumb), so either I will stick to the number sequence and let the black cats cross my path, or I will assign an X, Z, or Omega suffix to the last car skipping 013. In any event the chassis retains the serial number of the Mk4, but the Official documentation on the C of O and FFR badge includes the special Anniversary number. There are currently two 15 yr chassis here and none are left for sale unless I were to make mine available. We will NEVER make any more period.

Dave,
If you are afraid of the number 13, you can give it to me. That's my lucky number.

I am with Mike
00 ( double Ought ) sound better than 13

Dave: Have you made it a precedent to skip number thirteen in all/any of the earlier models and seroes of FFR cars?

Some buildings don't have a 13th floor.... So if you have car #13 you don't have to build it...
Dave we want you to build it even if its #13. Leave the Tech guys on the phones and go for it. A unheated single car garage is the way to go if you want the best memories of the build. Well, maybe not the best memories but you will reminber it... :)

I would number it 13, superstitions have mostly gone away these days, haven't they??
Dave, put me in the camp that also thinks it would be pretty cool to see you do and document the build on the car. I know time is a major PITA, but it would be pretty cool.

It is interesting to read about #13. I was the first to call in my order when they went on sale (I ended up with chassis #3) and when Rick took my order I made sure that he put on my order that I would accept any chassis # so long as it is NOT #13. Too many things have happened to me in my short life and I didn't want to add the risk of a #13 chassis to it. I am sure that Dave will be just fine driving around in chassis #13.
Chassis #3 is getting closer to a first start...

Dave, I'm glad you saved one for yourself. Maybe some of the FFR vendors would be willing to help you out with what you need to build it. I think it would generate a lot of interest to follow your build of "Anniversary Car 13" (or whatever you decide to call it) I am sure you could find plenty of help. I know it would be one more thing added to your full plate. I am just glad you saved one.

Dave, I too think you should build it, even better do it at home rather than at FFR. Not only do I think it makes a great story, but a great selling point, the CEO has built and used the product himself. Kind of the eat your own dog food mentality. I have found that going through an experience like that is always beneficial to a company.
