I know this may sound silly, but I am already thinking what should I be wearing, goggles, leather helmet and gloves.
Perhaps some cool, jacket.
Anyhow, feel free to share your ideas or places one can get some 'vintage' personal gear :)

I like the old school, Cobra Racing team shirts. I have a couple of vintage style Cobra T-shirts, from the same place that I wear to car shows, but the blue team shirt would be extra cool.

I jokingly told my kids (7, 8, and 10) that I was going to buy them each one of those (hat from 1st post). Said, if they want to ride with me in the Cobra, they had to wear one.
Expecting them to fight back... I even said.. "I'll wear one too!!".
oops.. backfire!
all 3 of them loved the idea!!

I have given those goggles a thought or two. Looking at vintage racing pictures of Cobras, it looks like those were maybe the old style and goggles with a one piece lens were on the way in. Of course the one piece ones just look like ski or safety goggles. The old school ones are the ones with the cool look.
Leather helmets are the wrong vintage for a Cobra as far as race gear goes. Helmets went to hard shells right about 1950. Bell started making "real" helmets in the mid 50s. Before that they mostly wore leather football helmets (which is not what that hat is), and just cloth before that.
The trick is to have a cool vintage accessory, while not looking like you are driving to a Halloween party. I think you could pull off the goggles, but that hat is too far into the costume realm for me.
There are endless places to get the goggles on line and a huge price range. If I did them, I would not want actual glass lenses.
I have been eyeballing the Cobra team shirt myself.....

Mrs. Gumball bought me a really nice pair of driving gloves, which are great on cool days. For a top cover, I go with the traditional British flat-cap.

Guess what the more rounded less floppy version of those hats are called? Driving Cap
I have a couple.
I got some nice driving gloves. They are also good in the summer on the wooden steering wheel when you get sweaty.

I too am "Chroming Over" & have been since the age of about 16.
My daily driver is 23, does that count as vintage?
