Any idea what this thing is called and which box it might be in?

It looks a bit like a part of a firewall clutch cable adjuster, but is either missing something, or is a lousy drawing of one.

Perhaps it is in the same box as the cable quadrant, and clutch cable. Look for a box with these other pieces in it, as they would normally all go together.

Just heard from Factory Five that they don't use that anymore and that the cable attaches directly to the fire wall. Not sure how much sense that makes as there is only one screw to use.

The adjustment down at the transmission is all you really need. It's not like you have to get to it very often. I haven't touched mine since I built the car. 14,000 miles ago.

I'd much rather have the firewall adjuster. About 6 months ago I decided it was time for a new cable so wanted to get the one w/ the adjustment at the bottom end. Went to install it, got it working and then tried to install the sheet metal cover back onto the bell housing. The end of the cable was too long so I had to cut it. Much prefer adjustment at the top that I can do w/o tools.

The original high quality OEM Ford Mustang clutch cable, didn't come with the adjustable end, so the firewall adjuster is needed for that cable, unless you used the Mustang pedal-box with the stock, self-adjusting quadrant.

I have one if you'd like it. PM me your address and I'll mail it to you, no charge. Michael Everson is sending me something free of charge today, so I'm happy to continue the pay it forward theme. Karma!

You don't need this part with the new kits that provide adjustment at the clutch fork. I did add a firewall adjuster to my kit build just in case I need to fine tune the clutch cable.

The spacer you are asking about provides no adjustment capability.
