Does your gearbox hang below the frame?

I am fabbing up a mount for my g96 and have some up/down adjustability. I am seeing anything from 1/2" at the highest gearbox position (almost hitting the rear 1"tube X-member) to more than 1" underhang as I bring the gearbox down.
How much does your gearbox hang below the chassis? I'd like the center of gravity as low as possible obviously, but don't want to snag anything either.

I used a g50 and it did not come below the frame.

I think you need to make this call based upon your motor mounts. They need to not be in bind. On the race GTM, which still uses the stock LS3 engine mounts, the engine ends up pretty much to where the valley cover is level when the frame is level. Do this, and then deal with whatever you have to do to mount the tail of the transaxle.

Thanks guys. Just saw your post, Crash. Thanks for that tip about engine being level to the frame.
I'm using Corvette C5/C6 rubber mounts with the FFR adapter (maybe 1/4" thick).

The rear of the engine oil pan/G50 adapter plate normally hangs down below the bottom of the chassis by about 3/8". If you attempt to bring the engine up any farther than that, you will need to be watching your t-stat housing because it's probably pushing up against the frame tube.

I got it fabbed up as high as I could (breather vent almost touching the 1" round cross tubes) and have about 3/8" underhang. At least I'm in good company!
