I got the body off this weekend and built a body buck. I figured it would make life a lot easier and I had wheels and wood laying around doing nothing. Now I can do the final sanding on the hard to reach places and spray the slick sand in the next few weeks (depending on how many other projects pop up). I have two race cars to wire for guys, one is waiting to get his back from the painter and the other one is waiting for the machine shop to finish his engine. I wonder what the odds of them both showing up at the same time.

I couldn't quite make out which division the NHRA title was for.
A friend of mine from Div 5 was top gas twice then went to top fuel in rails and funnies.
He's one of the reasons I'm a Hemi fan.

Dale,
Its actually IHRA Division 1. I won the Championship in '03 and my teammate won in '04.

I got the first round of Slick Sand sprayed Saturday. I'm picking up another gallon this week to spray and hopefully start blocking this weekend. I'm happy with the way everything turned out, but I did learn a few things that I want to change before the next round. I'm going to raise the doors on my fixture and maybe the body as well before i spray again.

Winning a championship is no small feat, congrats on the back to back wins. Fun stuff.
Growing up at the dirt tracks and later becoming a drag race fan I enjoy both equally now.
I go to the Nostalgia drags at Beech Bend Raceway with Ray Motes, go read his bio sometime.
He is a bit younger than big Daddy and older than John Force but raced against both of them
during his career. He won 5 Championships across three sanctioning bodies and drove both
rails and funny cars in his career often both at the same event. Fun to hear the history from
his vantage point. If you have any pictures from those events I would love to see them.

I finally got color on the bottom of the hood and trunk lid. Hopefully get the remaining panels painted next weekend.
