Those of you that don't live in SW Florida or in the capital region of NY probably don't know Billy Fuccillo and his seemingly constant commercials selling KIA cars and saying, (yelling) "It's huge...".
One of his 27 dealerships, this one on RT 41 near North Port had a "Huuuge" car show today. Over 650 cars from all over Florida because of the prizes and MANY "Huuuuge" trophies awarded.
Billy wrote a personal check for $20k to have the show and it was a benefit for the North Port Coalition for homeless/needy children.
Because of the amount of prize money, ($2,500 for best in class and there were at least 5 classes) means you get trailer queens coming in from all over the state, add to that five 39" and five 37" flat screen giveaways, two computers, two sound bars etc., you get people from all over.
There were three other Cobras there. An AC, a Backdraft and another I wasn't sure about. All had way more money in their cars than me. Two of them got trophies.
My car is clean, looks new, though built in 2002 but doesn't have a lot of the bells and whistles as many of these newer cars do.
I like that, and like with everything with these cars, it's just personal preference.
I'm not a trophy collector guy. I really don't need a room or shelves of trophies to validate my enjoyment of my car or to validate me as a person.
I saw a woman kissing her trophy and taking selfies with it and I heard her say, "My hard work finally paid off" and I actually felt bad for her, that she needed a trophy to make her feel better about herself. I won nothing. No 50/50, no trophies, no door prizes, nothing.
As I drove home after a very long day, my feet aching from standing around during the awards ceremony, (took hours) I thought about my day.
While I got some sun burn, I had some great food, and made two new friends and caught up with a few others, plus I contributed to a good cause.
I drove home a winner.
