I told my wife that I'm going to destroy the paint on my newly finished, fenderless hot rod because I'm going to drive it everyday as soon as the snow melts! So she surprised me today by suggesting we make the road trip to CA to show it off at the Huntington Beach Cruise-In. We were planning to at least go out east to Factory Five Event in June, but I heard it was cancelled?
Anyway, it looks like we are making the epic trip to Cali from Detroit. Any suggestion for hotels near HB where I can keep the trailer?

Epic road trip? I should say so, I've done it before and I wasn't towing a trailer (driving an RV, however). I would check with Dave Hodgkins (on this forum or the other one) for suggestions, although I think space at Dave's is probably already spoken for by now. We are staying downtown, a block from Main St., but we aren't bringing a car to show. Actually, you will also want to check with Dave to see if there are still show registrations available, assuming you want to show your car. I know that there's a limit on registrations, but I don't know how full it is. Whatever you do, do it quick as the hotels are filling up fast; we booked our over 6 weeks ago and they were almost sold out then.
Good Luck,

Tim!
Holy smokes it'll be good to see you!
Accommodations:

Make sure you mention Factory five to get the block room rate.
If you plan on keeping your trailer attached to your hauler for the weekend you can add yourself to my trailer list in the BBQ thread:

Glad you are coming to HB!

David thanks for the recommendation! I have booked the Kimpton and plan on keeping my truck/trailer in your neighbor hood if that's possible? I post to the other thread also...but please let me know if something changes, thanks!

Tim,
Around here we call it the Shorebreak (I didn't even know the name "Kimpton"!)
If you are planning to keep your trailer attached we're good to go.

Yes, I would keep the truck with the trailer. How far is your place from "Shorebreak"?

If I had to guess I'd say about 9.6 miles...
